The following day, on May 6, Garamendi addressed concerns about national security in a tweet: “House Republicans are scared of the truth. Hegseth is reckless and has repeatedly put our national security and lives of service members at risk. If this report came out, Hegseth would be fired.” This comment suggests criticism toward certain Republican figures for actions perceived as compromising to national security.

Born in Camp Blanding, Florida in 1945 and educated at UC Berkeley and Harvard University, he resides today in Walnut Grove.
