Graduates earn 236 degrees from the California State University Maritime Academy

About 28.8 percent of the 236 degrees and certificates handed out by the California State University Maritime Academy in 2017-18 were to students in transportation and materials moving programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Vallejo conferred 68 bachelor's degrees in transportation and materials moving programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in marine science/merchant marine officer. Data shows the school gave out 68 bachelor's degrees in marine science/merchant marine officer, followed by 46 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management and 34 bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering.

The university enrolled 1,046 students for 2017-18, including 1,017 in undergraduate programs and 29 in graduate programs.
