On March 31, 2025, Garamendi addressed the transgender community in his district and California in a tweet. He criticized the Trump-Vance Administration's actions, suggesting that they attempt to "erase trans people the military and the law." He assured transgender individuals, saying "We see you, and we in the @EqualityCaucus stand with you".

In another tweet posted the same day, Garamendi paid tribute to César Chávez, describing him as a "labor and civil rights champion." He celebrated Chávez's role in leading nonviolent movements aimed at securing better working conditions and union rights, acknowledging that "His dedication led to landmark labor agreements that improved workers’ rights and changed labor rights".

Later that day, Garamendi critiqued expenditure by Elon Musk and DOGE on migrant detention. He shared his concerns on "spending $40 million jailing fewer than 400 migrants", describing it as "wasteful, legally questionable, and harms our military’s readiness." Garamendi emphasized the need for transparency by insisting that "Congress and the American people deserve answers."
