City of Fairfield issued the following announcement on Nov. 5.
Domestic violence is prevalent in every community, including Fairfield. One in three women and one in four men in the United States have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner. Fortunately, there are options available to victims of abuse.
The Fairfield Police Department is committed to working in partnership with our community to preserve and enhance the quality of life through effective crime prevention, safety education, and innovative law enforcement.
Our Family Violence Unit is a great example of innovative law enforcement by taking a holistic approach supporting victims of violence.
The Fairfield Police Departments’ Family Violence Unit consists of three detectives, one victim advocate, and a police technician with the specialized knowledge and training necessary to deal with the sensitive nature of victims exposed to domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse crimes.
