City of Fairfield issued the following announcement on Dec. 17.
Officer Neal with the City's Homeless Intervention Team has been working with a gentleman at Project Roomkey to get stabilized and permanently housed.
He is well-known to the police department and HIT, as he has been homeless for several years. He was admitted into Project Roomkey by HIT and has been there for a few months. He has been receiving ongoing case management from Shelter Solano, County Mental Health, and the HIT Team to become stable and is now attempting to identify permanent housing with supportive services.
He recently expressed his love of music, particularly the keyboard, to Officer Neal during one of his visits and shared that he used to be an avid player and finds it relaxing. Officer Neal was able to secure a keyboard through an anonymous donation and was able to give it to the gentleman so he can begin playing again.
